Janai Purnima is a sacred Hindu festival in Nepal where Brahmin and Chhetri men change their sacred thread, the Janai, after performing a purification ritual. Devotees also tie a protective colorful thread called Doro around their wrists, believed to safeguard them throughout the year. It is also celebrated as Raksha Bandhan, emphasizing the bond of protection between siblings.
