About Gai Jatra
Gai Jatra, or the Festival of Cows, is a unique cultural celebration in Nepal dedicated to remembering those who passed away during the year. Families lead cows or children dressed as cows in a procession through the streets to guide the souls of the departed to the afterlife. It is a day of satire, humor, and communal sharing, helping families cope with grief through laughter.
