About Shout of Dolores
The Shout of Dolores, or Grito de Dolores, commemorates the historic moment in 1810 when Father Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla called for Mexico's independence from Spanish rule. This event serves as the emotional start to independence celebrations, featuring reenactments of the Grito by government officials. It is a deeply patriotic cultural observance held in public squares across the country.
