About Anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People
The Anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People is a national holiday in Morocco that honors the 1953 exile of King Mohammed V by French colonial authorities. This event triggered widespread popular uprisings that eventually led to the country's independence in 1956. It is observed annually to commemorate the sacrifice and solidarity of the Moroccan citizens and the monarchy against colonial rule.
