About Hiroshima Memorial Day
Hiroshima Memorial Day honors the victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. It serves as a somber day for peace advocacy and reflection, with a memorial service held at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Japanese citizens observe this day to pray for the souls of those lost and to promote global nuclear disarmament.
