Prabarana Purnima in Bangladesh

About Prabarana Purnima

Prabarana Purnima is a major religious festival for the Buddhist community in Bangladesh, marking the conclusion of the three-month Vassa retreat. On this day, followers participate in temple activities, light lanterns, and release sky lanterns to symbolize the overcoming of darkness. It serves as a time for merit-making and community reflection on the teachings of the Buddha.
