About Madhu Purnima
Madhu Purnima is a significant Buddhist festival celebrated primarily by the Buddhist community in Bangladesh. It commemorates the occasion when Gautama Buddha retreated into the Parileyyaka forest to restore harmony among his disciples, where he was allegedly offered honey and fruit by a monkey and an elephant. This cultural and religious day is marked by special prayers, temple visits, and the distribution of food offerings to monks.
