About Ashari Purnima
Ashari Purnima is a significant Buddhist festival in Bangladesh that marks the beginning of the Vassa, or the three-month rain retreat for monks. It commemorates the day when Siddhartha Gautama gave his first sermon at Sarnath after attaining enlightenment. Devotees observe this religious day by visiting temples, offering alms, and participating in prayers and traditional chanting.
